Charcuterie Board
"A totally casual, no-big-deal cheese board that just happens to look like you hired a caterer. Costco is your secret weapon."
The Game Plan
-
Start with your board or platter. A large wooden cutting board works perfectly. If you don't have one, a clean sheet pan lined with parchment paper does the job just fine.
-
Place the cheeses first — spread them out in different quadrants of the board. Put the brie in the center because it's the star. Slice a small wedge out of the brie so guests know it's okay to dig in.
-
Fan the prosciutto and salami in loose, folded ribbons between the cheeses. Don't lay them flat — scrunch and fold them so they look effortlessly rustic.
-
Add small bowls for the honey, fig jam, and olives. Tuck them into gaps between the cheeses.
-
Fill in the empty spaces with clusters of grapes, piles of berries, handfuls of mixed nuts, and stacks of crackers. The goal is abundance — you want it to look overflowing.
-
Tuck in a few rosemary sprigs for color and aroma. They make the whole board look like a magazine cover with zero effort.
-
Set out small cheese knives or butter knives and let guests go to town.
