The Game Plan

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl. Let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Mix in remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Add flour one cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms.

  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic (or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5 minutes).

  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

  5. Roll dough into a large rectangle, about 16x20 inches. Spread softened butter across the surface, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Roll up tightly from the long side. Slice into 12 equal pieces. Place cut-side down in a greased 9x13 baking dish.

  7. Cover and let rise 30 minutes until puffy.

  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 22-25 minutes until golden brown.

  9. While baking, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

  10. Spread frosting over warm rolls immediately.
