The Game Plan

Slice the mozzarella and Roma tomatoes into 1/4-inch rounds.

Arrange alternating slices of tomato and mozzarella on a platter, overlapping slightly. Tuck whole basil leaves between the slices.

Drizzle generously with extra-virgin olive oil.

Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the top, or serve it on the side for dipping.

Finish with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Serve immediately at room temperature for the best flavor.
