Cold Brew Concentrate
"Smooth, strong, never-bitter coffee concentrate that gives you a full week of iced coffee for the price of one Starbucks run."
The Game Plan
-
Add coarsely ground coffee to a large jar, pitcher, or French press.
-
Pour in cold filtered water. Stir gently to make sure all grounds are saturated.
-
Cover and place in the refrigerator.
-
Steep for 12-24 hours. Longer = stronger, but anything over 24 hours can get bitter.
-
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth, a coffee filter, or just use the French press plunger.
-
Transfer the concentrate to a clean jar or bottle.
-
To serve, dilute 1:1 with cold water or milk over ice. Adjust the ratio to your caffeine personality.
